About Zac
I’m a psychotherapist based in Canary Wharf, London, offering therapy in person and online across the UK. I was born in the United States and have lived in the UK for most of my life.
Before training as a psychotherapist, I spent more than eight years working within NHS sleep and respiratory services. My interest in psychotherapy grew through this work, particularly from seeing how closely sleep can be connected with stress, emotional wellbeing, relationships and the wider circumstances of a person’s life.
Alongside my psychotherapy practice, I continue to work in sleep medicine as a Senior Sleep Physiologist at a private sleep clinic in London. I have co-authored published academic research through Imperial College London and have extensive experience working with people affected by insomnia and other sleep difficulties.
While sleep is an area of specialist experience, it does not need to be the reason you come to therapy. I work with adults experiencing a broad range of emotional, relational and psychological difficulties. My background across psychotherapy and healthcare has contributed to an interest in understanding the person as a whole, including the ways our emotions, relationships, physical wellbeing and past and present experiences can influence one another.
I completed my postgraduate training in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of East London and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
My approach is primarily psychodynamic and informed by psychoanalytic thinking, with a relational and collaborative way of working. This means we can think together not only about what is happening in your life now, but also about patterns, relationships and earlier experiences that may help us understand how you are feeling.
I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework and undertake regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development. I also hold professional indemnity insurance for my practice.
